Last year we saw Wilson introduce the exquisite Staff Model blades and now we have new wedges to match.
The precision-milled Wilson Staff Model wedges will be available in six lofts, plus a brand-new Hi Toe version in two lofts.
Like the blades, the first thing that stands out with these wedges is the silky, classic looks.
But there is more to these wedges than their sheer beauty.
Designed in collaboration with Wilson’s Tour players, they provide you with a delicate soft touch for increased feel around the green.
Featuring a soft-forged 8620 Carbon Steel construction, with machine-engraved grooves in the precision-milled face, the Wilson Staff Model wedges create Tour-calibre spin and control when needed most.
“These new Wilson Staff Model and Staff Model Hi Toe wedges deliver a clean design and precision milled clubfaces to give golfers a boost in confidence in their short game,” said Jon Pergande, Global Manager of Innovation.
He added: “Designed with the feedback from our Wilson Staff PGA Tour players, including US Open Champion Gary Woodland and Ryder Cup Captain Padraig Harrington, both wedges look very different, but provide golfers the same control and greater consistency, while offering different shot-making capabilities.”
Like a few other manufactures, Wilson has decided to introduce a Hi Toe model.
It combines a high toe and wide sole with a 431 stainless steel head and a precision-milled face for ultimate creativity around the green.
The face shape allows the club to be played at varying degrees of open and closed configurations, providing complete control over the amount of face that makes contact with the ball.
Machine-engraved grooves across the whole milled face feature a higher density pattern for a more consistent contact at impact, resulting in maximum spin and control on every shot.
Another huge plus with these new wedges is the price point. At £109 you are getting so much bang for your buck.
So, if you are looking for a classic player's wedge that offers soft feel and plenty of control then the Staff Model is one you should certainly be checking out.
