If you’re a beginner golfer, there’s a good chance you’re using equipment that isn’t right for you. With their brand-new Wildcat range, PXG is aiming to change that.

Even if you’re a seasoned player now, there’s a good chance you remember a time where you were using clubs that didn’t suit you. Those might be clubs that are too long and heavy, or they might have been far too unforgiving for starting out in golf. So, PXG are offering something different.

The brand, who make clubs that perform at the highest level, is turning their hand to making equipment for those just starting out in the game.

In this range, which features an easy to digest nine clubs, you’ll get a straightforward to hit driver. This club features 16 degrees of loft, around double what you’d expect to find on a traditional club. This driver is engineered for an easy and high launch to create maximum distance.

Below that, there’s a 5-wood. Fairway woods are notoriously hard to hit, so there’s no sense in giving a beginner golfer a traditional 3-wood. Instead, this 5-wood features a confidence inspiring look with plenty of loft and increased offset, to make it approachable. You’ll find the same confidence boosting features in the 6-hybrid.

Even for experienced players, long irons are difficult to hit. Therefore, the Wildcat range features just 7-iron through to sand wedge. These irons feature a body made of 431 stainless steel and PXG’s proprietary XCOR2 polymer core system. This is similar to what we find in PXG’s premium clubs and helps to boost launch and forgiveness.

There is also, of course, a putter on offer. That is the Black Hawk putter, a new addition from PXG, which gives a smooth and consistent roll on the greens. There’s also a handy pick up pocket on the bottom of the club, which helps speed up play when you’re picking up your ball.

“With the new PXG Wildcat golf clubs, we’re excited to shake up the game for those just getting into golf,” said PXG Founder and CEO Bob Parsons. “These top-notch clubs are designed to make sure that even beginners can hit the course with confidence and enjoy every moment.”

The full package set will set you back £1,499, which also includes a PXG golf bag, cap and a dozen premium golf balls. You can also purchase each club individually from the PXG website.
