Tiger Woods | Gear

Tiger Woods gave us an insight into his recovery when he hit balls at the Sage Valley Junior Invitational, but he also gave us a sneak peak at the clubs he’ll be using on his return.

Since he last played competitively at the Wyndham Championship, Nike has released a host of new gear and it appears Woods has been trying it out.

Here’s what Tiger had in his bag during his last competitive round at the Wyndham Championship last year.

Driver: Nike Vapor Speed Prototype (10.5˚)
3-wood:
Nike Vapor Speed (15˚)
Irons
: Nike VRS Forged (2), Nike Vapor Pro Blades (3-PW)

Tiger Woods – 2016 gear?

When Woods rocked up at the South Carolina event, his bag had a very different look.

According to Golf Digest, Woods’ bag set-up at the Sage Valley Junior Invitational was as follows:

Driver: Nike Vapor Fly Prototype (10.5˚)
3-wood
: Nike Vapor Speed (15˚)
5-wood:
Nike Vapor Speed (19˚)
Irons
: Nike VRS Forged (2), Nike Vapor Pro Blades (3-PW)
Wedges
: Nike VR Forged X3X (56˚, 60˚)
Putter:
Nike Method 001
Ball
: Nike RZN Tour Platinum

That amounts to 15 clubs, one over the allowable limit, but it gives a clear idea of where Woods is with his equipment at this moment in time.

Vapor Fly Pro

Tiger Woods’ new gear

While the majority of his bag is staying the same, Tiger Woods clearly likes the new Nike Vapor Fly driver, with what appears to be a prototype version of the Vapor Fly Pro in the bag.

Woods is also using an all black version instead of the blue and Volt yellow of the standard model above.

Going by these clips, he’s hitting it well.

Another change Tiger Woods has made is putting the Nike RZN Tour Platinum ball in his bag, replacing the Nike RZN Black ball.
