We’ve had the GT2, GT3 and GT4. Now, say hello to the Titleist GT1 driver and woods line-up.

Designed to deliver high launch, fast ball speeds and increased stability, the GT1 is aimed primarily at players with a slow-to-moderate swing speed.

For the record, that’s the vast majority of you reading this!

It achieves that with an ultra-lightweight design which helps create the right conditions for effortless launch.

As was the case with the GT2, GT3 and GT4 drivers, Titleist engineers achieved significant weight savings while retaining exceptional sound and feel in the GT1 driver through the so-called Seamless Thermoform Crown, made from Titleist’s Proprietary Matrix Polymer.

The GT1 also features a Split Mass Construction, with weight redistributed internally for higher launch and optimal speed, spin and stability. Faster clubhead speed has been unlocked through improved aerodynamic shaping, with faster ball speed coming courtesy of Titleist’s Speed Ring and VFT technology.

Stephanie Luttrell, the Director of Titleist Metalwood Product Development, explained: “When we began thinking about how we evolve and improve upon the ‘1’ models, we started by tapping into our global network of fitting specialists to understand what it is that would really advance performance for GT1 players.

“The resounding feedback that we heard across the board for the driver, fairways and hybrids is that anything we can do to increase launch is going to help this player improve their overall trajectory, consistency and distance. Making the line launch higher, while maintaining optimal spin rates, is really going to benefit both the moderate speed player as well as the player that is naturally low spin.”

So, that’s the driver.

As for the GT1 fairways and hybrids, they offer new Dual Performance Control Settings through forward-back flat-weight adjustability. This allows fitters and golfers to adjust launch conditions, speed and stability by flipping the position of a heavier weight and a lighter weight.

The shape of both the fairways and hybrids has also been subtly refined, increasing playability off the turf.

Over to Tom Bennett, the Principal Product Manager, Titleist Metalwoods.

“With the GT1 fairways, we received feedback from fitters that having two CG positions would be a real benefit,” he said.

“Having the option to move that weight forward in the fairway gives fitters a good opportunity to fit different types of players into GT1 than we could have with TSR1.

“We’ve done a lot of consumer testing and found that about 60% of players preferred the heavy weight in the back, while 40% preferred it moved forward.

“That tells us that having both options makes a big difference.”

Titleist GT1: In summary

The lightweight construction of the Titleist G1 driver, fairways and hybrids makes it easier to swing and generate more club speed, which results in more ball speed and distance.

You’ll also see higher launch across the whole range in the driver, fairways and hybrids.

If you are a slower swing speed you’ll definitely see the benefits of using a driver, fairway or hybrid like this. For one thing, the lightweight construction of the clubs makes them easier to swing and generate club speed. You’ll also benefit from higher launches and more spin to keep the ball in the air for longer carries, which means more distance.

This could be your new gamer for 2025.
