Cobra King F7 irons unleashed

The wrapping is officially off the new Cobra King F7 irons and there’s no doubting Cobra has every option covered.

The King name made its triumphant return with the launch of the F6 family last year and it has now returned with a mixture of upgrades and new additions for 2017.

The offering is headlined by the Cobra King F7 irons, which Cobra says builds upon the King F6 model by continuing the concept of a progressive set for the best possible performance.

In the long irons (3-iron to 5-iron), the King F7 has a full hollow design to give a lower centre of gravity. It works with the PWRSHELL face insert to give a design that is easier to hit and get in the air.

The half hollow design has been used in the mid irons (6-iron and 7-iron) to optimise the weight in the head. According to Cobra, this delivers ‘a more precise’ result and will see you hit more greens in regulation more often.

The scoring irons (8-iron to pitching wedge), has a traditional cavity back design and uses wedge spaced grooves to give more spin and control for approaches into the green.

The set is completed by the specialty wedges, giving more versatility in the sand and gap wedges.

While the King F7 irons are aimed at a wide cross section of golfers, the King Forged Tour irons are targeted at the more accomplished player and give ‘tour-proven performance, feel and precise shot-making’.

Each head has undergone a five-step forging process to give as much feel as possible. Tungsten weights are strategically positioned on the sole of the clubhead to lower the centre of gravity for more forgiveness.

The 100% CNC Milled face and grooves give maximum spin and control over your ball flight, while the TPU insert sits behind the sweetspot to dampen the vibrations and add even further to that feel.

The standard Cobra King F7 offering is completed by the new women’s designs. They feature the same technology as the men’s designs and have a premium chrome plating for a nice finish and durability.
