Leading shoe and glove brand unveils Performance Apparel Collection

FootJoy has today completed its move into the full line golf apparel market with the launch of its 2012 FJ Performance Apparel Collection.

Available in stores across the UK from the beginning of March, the seasonal collection features a range of garments in four contemporary colour stories.

Each has been created through a golf-conscious approach, using the very latest high-tech performance fabrics and is designed to complement the existing line of FJ advanced outerwear.

The unveiling of this extensive product line-up marks the emergence of FJ products in all categories of golf clothing and builds on the growing success of the brand’s popular FJ Layering System.

After a comprehensive study of the golf apparel market, four colour ranges have been selected to spearhead the spring/summer range. They are: Cape Collection (Navy/Ocean/Yellow/White), Savannah Collection (Black/Red/White), Valley Collection (Purple/Charcoal/Grey/White) and Shore Collection (Navy/Coral/Khaki/White).

With the provision of specific colour palettes, golfers will easily be able to co-ordinate their outfits within their chosen collection. The addition of athletic fit styles will also provide a wealth of options for those seeking a more tailored look.

As in their shoe and glove offering, FJ insists its ultimate design focus remains specific to the sport of golf. As such, each item of clothing conforms to the golfers’ requirements in areas of comfort and performance.

“We’re excited about our move into the full-line apparel market and believe the timing is perfect,” said Russell Lawes, European marketing manger, FootJoy.

“We’ve talked to golfers and our trade partners, who enthusiastically support the plans and offerings; the response to the range has been nothing short of incredible, generating numerous phone calls wanting to preview and book the product.

“We are confident we have an excellent range, and look forward to a positive response from golfers across the country. This represents an important step forward in FootJoy’s mission to enhance the enjoyment of the game for golfers of all ages and abilities.”

FJ’s Performance Apparel Collection has already received strong tour validation and will be worn in competition by world No.5 and Hyundai Tournament of Champions victor, Steve Stricker, and Spain’s European Tour star, Rafael Cabrera-Bello.

“I continue to be impressed with the quality, fit, comfort and overall performance of FootJoy apparel,” said Stricker on his sporting of the collection.

“The layering system is absolutely terrific, allowing me to regulate my body temperature based upon changing conditions. In addition, the new performance lisle shirts that I have been wearing all year are superb.”
