TaylorMade have today launched the JetSpeed family of metalwoods.

Designed to replace the highly successful RBZ Stage 2 range, it includes a new driver, fairway woods and rescues.

The headline technology in the new JetSpeed driver, fairway woods and rescues is the speed pocket. Although previously used in the RBZ Stage 2 fairway woods and rescues, this is the first time the tech has been engineered for a driver.

The centre of gravity is low and forward, promoting faster ball speed and lower spin-rate for more distance while the matte black crown, which was also present in the SLDR, helps to reduce glare and the contrasting silver face makes alignment easy.

JetSpeed is the first driver to incorporate our speed pocket – Brian Bazzel on the new JetSpeed metalwoods line

Brian Bazzel, TaylorMade’s senior director of product creation, said of the speed pocket’s inclusion in the driver: “JetSpeed is the first driver to incorporate our speed pocket, specifically to increase ball speed and distance on low-face impacts”.

TaylorMade say the fairway woods and rescues are their longest and most playable ever with a new and more efficient speed pocket design helping increase distance.

The low profile head design helps you launch the ball easily from the turf and works together with the speed pocket to promote long distance and easy playability.

Todd Beach, TaylorMade’s vice president of metalwood R&D, added: “The shallow face and low centre of gravity make it easy to make contact below the ball’s equator for easy launch, while the speed pocket promotes fast ball speed for long distance.”
