It was a lucrative week for the 20 players who headed to the Bahamas for the Tiger Woods-hosted Hero World Challenge.
Scottie Scheffler’s 25-under-par total was enough for a storming six-shot win over his good friend Tom Kim to take the million dollar share of the prize purse, while Jason Day and Russell Henley still banked north of $150,000 for finishing dead last.
It was Scheffler’s ninth title of the season. The World No. 1 has also been triumphant at the Masters, Arnold Palmer Invitational and Players Championship, as well as the RBC Heritage, Memorial and Travelers. He also won the season-ending Tour Championship and, with it, the FedEx Cup bonus.
And, as a cherry on top of the cake, Scheffler also returned from a week in Paris in August with an Olympic gold medal around his neck.
As an aside, the American’s remarkable year also earned him a pretty neat Official Golf World Ranking-related side note.
