There’s another Open to keep fans busy this week.

Now that the major season is over, the race towards the FedEx Cup play-offs is on and that’s why a strong field is set to line up at the 3M Open.

A handful of the PGA Tour’s biggest names are in town, including Billy Horschel after his T2 finish at Royal Troon last week.

Following his final round 68 in south Ayrshire, he said: “I’ll be on the range at 7.30 Tuesday morning, grinding away like I always am.”

A total of 500 crucial FedEx Cup points are on the line in Minnesota, with another rise to the prize pot part of the incentive at TPC Twin Cities.

The winner over the par 71 layout will take home just shy of $1.5 million.

For the hardcore PGA Tour fans, the tournament represents a return to stroke play following the Barracuda Championship last week, which Nick Dunlap won.

Meanwhile, the 3M Open is a relatively new event, succeeding the the 3M Championship, which was a PGA Tour Champions event for 26 years until 2018.

The bunkered Bet

Austin Eckroat 80/1 e/w

Longshots have done well at this event and it’s worth siding with those in search of FedEx Cup points. That’s why it’s worth looking to Austin Eckroat, who made his fourth cut from six major starts at The Open. The American won at PGA National earlier in the season, a similar track, and rates 18th in SG: Approach this season.

Please gamble responsibly.
