LIV Golf star Louis Oosthuizen will return to the Alfred Dunhill Championship with his sights on a piece of history.
The South African won the event on home soil last year and could become only the third player to successfully defend his title.
Charl Schwartzel, who Oosthuizen beat into second 12 months ago, and Spain’s Pablo Martin are the only two players in history to win back-to-back.
And the pair will have plenty of native competition again, as Dean Burmester, Erik van Rooyen and Christiaan Bezuidenhout are in the line-up.
There’s also plenty of Ryder Cup interest, with Nicolai Hojgaard a standout in the field.
The event teed off as a standalone tournament in 2000 before moving to its current home, the incredible Leopard Creek, four years later.
Since then, it’s hosted a handful of major winners and former world No.1s, including Rory McIlroy, John Daly and Lee Westwood.
The Alfred Dunhill Championship is also the penultimate event of the Opening Swing, so here’s everything you need to know…

The bunkered Bet
Charl Schwartzel 20/1
Four wins and five runner-up finishes in his last 12 starts in this event – including last year – make Schwartzel an immediate contender. The former Masters champ’s form has been inconsistent over the last year, but he finished second in Qatar two weeks ago and can use his course expertise to get the better of this field.
