American pro Gabby Lemieux has been disqualified from Ladies European Tour (LET) Q School in a bizarre turn of events.

Lemieux, 28, was set to tee it up in a pre-qualifier for Final Stage in Morocco on Tuesday but reportedly missed her tee time at Samanah Golf.

While that is no new phenomenon, she soon revealed on Instagram that there was more to the incident.

After paying her entry fee and travelling to Africa, the former Texas Tech star was handed a 9.41 am (local) tee time alongside Mariam Colon and Isabella Deilert.

But, understandably distraught, Lemieux took to Instagram to tell fans that her phone hadn’t charged and, subsequently, her alarm didn’t go off.

“I did everything right; I did everything that I was supposed to,” Lemieux said.

“I prepared for a full month to come out here and when I got here, I prepared as much as I could. If you know me, I don’t clean my clubs the night before, I don’t have my outfits set out.

“I told myself this time was going to be different, and it felt that way, it felt like I was going to rise to the occasion.

“I plugged my phone in, and it was charging but maybe it wasn’t charging good enough or didn’t have enough battery.

“But this morning I woke up to a dead phone and I woke up at the time I was supposed to be teeing off for LET Q School.”

It’s after a tough year for Lemieux, who only teed it up four times on the Epson Tour, missing the cut three times.

But she vowed that her game was ‘heading in the right direction’ and despite letting people down, she won’t give up after the incident.

“You prepare and prepare and prepare and the inevitable happened,” she added.

“You travel all the way to Morocco by yourself and have one job, and I didn’t make it to my tee time.

“I have all these people supporting me, my sponsors, family, friends and I can’t help but feel guilty that I let them down, because I did.”

The journey home to Caldwell, Idaho, will feel even longer for Lemieux as the pre-qualifying rounds continued on Wednesday and into Thursday.

The top 23 and ties at three sites and the top 24 at the fourth site will progress to the final round at Royal Golf Marrakech & Al Maaden Golf Marrakech between December 16-20.

Meanwhile, Lemieux was involved in a separate DQ controversy at LPGA Tour Q School last year.

She signed a wrong scorecard amid calling out a player for cheating.
