Rory McIlroy will headline a star-studded field at Wentworth this week as the BMW PGA Championship returns to our screens.

Ryan Fox won the DP World Tour’s flagship event last season, edging out English duo Aaron Rai and Tyrrell Hatton on the famous Virginia Water course.

Nine of the 12 European Ryder Cup winners from 2023 will be teeing it up this time around, with Ludvig Aberg missing through injury and LIV converts Hatton and Jon Rahm playing in the breakaway league’s Team Championship in Dallas.

This tournament offers an immediate chance for McIlroy to gain some redemption after his near miss at last week’s Irish Open.

McIlroy will be paired once again alongside Gareth Bale in Wednesday’s Celebrity Pro-Am, while Scotland’s Robert MacIntyre will tee it up alongside tennis legend Andy Murray.
