BMW PGA Championship 2024: Prize money payout in full

It wasn’t to be for Rory McIlroy at Wentworth on Sunday.

The Northern Irishman’s year of near misses continued at the BMW PGA Championship, with a play-off defeat at the hands of Billy Horschel.

South African Thriston Lawrence joined the pair in the shootout but posted a six on the first extra hole to rule himself out.

Horschel and McIlroy left similar eagle putts on the second play-off hole, and it was the American who found the cup for a three.

In becoming a two-time champion, he bagged over $1.5 million, while McIlroy left with almost $800,000.
