Much of the intrigue at last night’s TGL match between Jupiter Links and The Bay Golf Club came from someone who wasn’t even playing.

Both Tiger Woods and Ludvig Aberg decided not to take part in this latest outing won by The Bay, but Brooks Koepka’s appearance in the SoFi Center certainly turned heads on social media.

The five-time major champion was pictured taking in the purpose-built arena for the first time and interacting with players including Max Homa and Shane Lowry.

Koepka is banned from competing from the PGA Tour-partnered TGL as a LIV Golf player, but that did not stop the conspiracy theories flying in over the reasons behind his visit.

Could Koepka be about to make a shock return to the PGA Tour? Could the TGL be about to acquire a new LIV team? Is an agreement between both sides finally on the way?

There are a fair few more simple explanations for Koepka’s appearance, of course.

He lives close to the arena in South Florida and has stayed friends with many of the PGA Tour players since his move to the breakaway LIV league.

There is also the fact that Koepka has a vested business interest in TGL.

Last October, Koepka poured money into Locker Room, an athlete investment fund which has invested in Woods’ and Rory McIlroy’s TMRW Sports, the owners of the TGL venture.
