The uncomfortable trend of players being heckled by unruly fans has reared its ugly head again at Quail Hollow on Friday.
It has emerged, via a TikTok video, that Brooks Koepka was the latest star to deal with such nonsense at this week’s PGA Championship in Charlotte.
Koepka, the five-time major champion, had another disastrous week in one of his four defining events of the season by missing the cut by seven shots.
He has now missed cuts at the first two majors of the year after faltering at the Masters, leaving many to question his recent drop in form.

And on his way to a second round 76 that left him nine-over through 36 holes, some abuse was hurled at the LIV golfer from one of the hospitality tents.
“That’s what guaranteed money does to you Brooks,” a fan appeared to shout as Koepka walked towards the next tee box with playing partners Rickie Fowler and Shane Lowry.
Koepka quickly clapped back as he turned towards the hospitality section.
“You want to come down here and say it?” he repeated twice, before moving on.

This, of course, was the latest in a series of pretty distasteful interactions been players and a spectator desperate for a reaction.
At the Cognizant Classic, Rickie Fowler told a mouthy fan “that’s why you’re in the stands” after being mocked over a birdie putt which slid by.
When Rory McIlroy was told to “blame your caddie” after a missed putt at the Genesis Invitational in February, the Northern Irishman told the spectator to “shut the f*** up.”
While three-time Wanamaker Trophy winner Koepka has headed home early, McIlroy is nine shots back from the halfway leader Jhonattan Vegas after sneaking inside the cutline for a weather-delayed weekend at Quail Hollow.
