It should come as a surprise to nobody that Bryson DeChambeau’s latest announcement has caused quite the stir on social media.
The two-time US Open champion has invited Donald Trump to play golf alongside him and teased a video for his Youtube channel that will be released on Tuesday.
The former US President will appear on DeChambeau’s “Break 50” Youtube series in which the Californian teams up with famous faces in a bid to play a full 18 hole round in 50 shots or less from forward tees.

In the announcement, DeChambeau claimed that it was “time” for Trump to “show what he has got” on the golf course.
“On this special episode, we will be donating $10,000 to the Wounded Warrior Project for every stroke we score under par. Stay tuned,” the LIV player added.
The news has left many golf fans scratching their heads.
Plenty of DeChambeau’s fans, it must be noted, are thrilled that he has teed it up with Trump. “Bryson stock has never been higher,” one user wrote on X. “Bryson is really transcending the sport of golf,” another added.
But others are less than impressed, claiming DeChambeau has now cemented his political stance.
“Like it or not, there is no way to make an event with the most politically polarising figure ever to not be about politics,” one fan wrote. “I though you were supposed to be intelligent. Trump is a politician. What he does is political,” another agreed.
“Lol you’re doing a thing with Donald Trump and saying it’s not politics,” a third user wrote.

DeChambeau recently invited Trump and President Joe Biden to have a golf match on his channel, before the 81-year-old confirmed on Sunday he was dropping out of the election race.
And DeChambeau hit back at his critics ahead of what is already a highly-anticipated challenge video with Trump.
“To be clear, this is about golf and giving back to our nation’s veterans, not politics,” he wrote on X. “A few weeks ago I reached out to both parties’ presidential campaigns and @realDonaldTrump was down for the challenge.
“It is an incredible honour to be able to enjoy a round of golf with any sitting or former president, and all have an open invitation to join me for a round of Break 50 anytime.”
