Bryson DeChambeau has reiterated his loyalty to LIV Golf after rumours swirled about a return to the PGA Tour next season.

The US Open champion has been subject to fervent online talk that he could be one of the first big names to switch back to his former domain from the breakaway LIV league.

Unsubstantiated reports have suggested DeChambeau will consider his future following the expiry of his contract this year, though it is understood that the American’s contract runs until at least 2026.

And, DeChambeau once again committed to LIV ahead of their third event of the season in Hong Kong.

“I’m very excited about the future of LIV Golf,” he said in Wednesday’s press conference.

“I’m very excited to be the captain of the Crushers and continue our legacy that we’re starting to create. That’s my goal is to create this lasting legacy where we impact millions and millions of golfers’ lives around the world.

“That should tell you everything you should know.”

DeChambeau is bullish about the future of the league as its benefactors, the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF), continues to negotiate a peace deal with the PGA Tour.

“I continue to see LIV Golf growing. It’s going to grow at an exponentiating pace for years to come, and we aren’t going anywhere.”

But as the two rivals tours continue to operate independently, there is increasing intrigue into what a “unified” game – that sees the world’s best players compete together more regularly – would actually look like.

PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan was asked about the possible re-assimilation of LIV players back into the US circuit.

“I’m not going to get into any conversations that I did or didn’t have with players on LIV,” Monahan said when asked if LIV players had been in touch over a return.

“I’m focused on the players that are on the PGA Tour. It takes all of my energy and my team’s energy to make sure that we’re continuing to improve and strengthen the PGA Tour and doing so in the eyes of fans. Ultimately, that question is going to be answered through the conversations that we’re having with the PIF.”
