Bryson DeChambeau has revealed his ambitious plans to spend his LIV Golf millions on creating a new 200-acre community in his hometown.

During an appearance on the The Joe Pomp ShowDeChambeau outlined his extensive plans to develop a sports-centric community where he grew up in California.

“We are doing a mega project,” the US Open champion explained.

“It’s been in the works for a couple of years now and we’re at the place where we are getting permits to build. People know about it now. We have acquired massive amounts of land in my hometown and it’s a three-phase process to build a whole community and increase the size of where I grew up by 30%”

“It’s a full-scale plan, fully thought out. It’s not only to bring golfers to the game but also to bring people to the central valley. You build a community around a multi-sport complex centre.

“It’s going to take 12-15 months to get the permits approved for the full scope. It’s over 200 acres of land what we have right now. It’s going to be multi-sports complex centre, driving range, golf course, residential, community, centre, the whole thing.”

DeChambeau realises that his move to LIV has made his grand plan possible.

The 31-year-old reportedly banked a $100million signing-on fee for jumping ship from the PGA Tour to join the Saudi-backed breakaway league back in 2022.

“This is where sometimes I can talk a pretty big game but ultimately I feel like over the course of time I will be able to back that up,” DeChambeau continued.

“A lot of the reason why I have been able to do this is because of LIV. They gave me the economic viability to do these things and the platform to be able to do it, growing on YouTube.”

DeChambeau is not just stopping at his hometown, though. He also spoke in the podcast about using his Crushers GC team brand to create golf academies for youngsters across the world.

“How cool would it be to have academies across the globe?” he added. In “the Philippines and India.

“Places where you could make it economically more viable and affordable.  I am working with an equipment company right now to make that happen.”

DeChambeau makes his first start of the season next week in the Asian Tour’s $2million International Series event at the DLF Golf Club in India.
