Bubba Watson made the sixth hole-in-one of his career this weekend – but this ace might well be his most significant.
The two-time Masters champion was competing at the Indonesian Masters, an International Series event in Jakarta which is sanctioned by the Asian Tour.
He finished T13 after a final round 72 on Sunday, but the highlight of the week came courtesy of a pitching wedge on the par-3 11th during Saturday’s third round.
Watson nailed his approach from 154 yards and while his celebration was understated, the prize was huge – a family in need are being donated a house. He then matched that donation, meaning the Habit Humanity Indonesia charity could provide another home in the tournament’s honour thanks to sponsors BNI.

Remarkably, barely ten minutes later, Thailand’s Phachara Khongwatmai made an ace on the same hole and another home was donated.
“The game of golf has helped tremendously around the world,” Watson said afterwards. “For all the charity things that golf has brought to the table, it’s very special to be a part of that.

“It’s an honour and I heard there was another hole-in-one right behind me, so somebody needs to match that so there’ll be a couple families that will be helped out. So it’s an amazing thing that golf could can do that for somebody, and be able to help people.”

Watson, meanwhile, still has an uncertain future at LIV Golf having finished in the so-called relegation zone in 2024.
The 45-year-old appears to be competing in the International Series that he is capable of playing again on LIV next season.
He is captain of the Range Goats team and despite being relegated, can be called back for his status and popularity in what LIV are calling a “business case.”
