JT no longer #JSGB
While Jordan Spieth rose to prominence in 2015 with a series of stunning wins, his friend Justin Thomas could now be known for more than just a fun-poking Twitter hashtag after grabbing his maiden PGA Tour win at the CIMB Classic.
#JSGB (Jordan Spieth’s Good Buddy) edged out Adam Scott by one shot in Malaysia after a final round 66, continuing his fine form after finishing T3 at the Frys.com Open two weeks ago and an excellent rookie season where he narrowly missed out on the season-ending Tour Championship.
And one of the first people to congratulate Thomas? Yep, it was good buddy Jordan Spieth…
Turkish delight for Dubuisson
An emotional Victor Dubuisson triumphed again at the scene of his maiden European Tour win to bring to an end what had been a wretched season.
With only five top tens in 27 events since making his Ryder Cup debut at Gleneagles more than a year ago, the Frenchman saw off Kiradech Aphibarnrat and Jaco van Zyl to clinch what is only his second European Tour title.
“I was really counting on this Final Series to give me some confidence back because I completely lost it a few months ago. I was just missing everything.
“Sometimes you feel like your game is never going to come back and this week I realised that my whole game was here.”
Henrik Bond?
After finishing a lowly T47 at the CIMB Classic, thanks to the European Tour, Henrik Stenson has decided to put away the clubs and pursue a career in acting after topping a survey as to which player would make the best James Bond.
He wrote on Facebook: “After my poor play in the CIMB Classic I have decided to leave golf briefly to pursue a new career in acting, my earliest return to the game I love will be Tuesday morning next week at HSBC in Shanghai…….there is at least a 80/30 chance that I will be on the range!! The other 10% says putting green if anyone wondered! H.”
A short break then…
Stars say Happy Birthday to Gary Player
The Black Knight turned 80 on Sunday – and here are some of best tweets from some of the world’s best saying Happy Birthday to the nine-time major winner.
Peterson’s Happy Gilmore…
Sitting dead last at the CIMB Classic going into the final round, John Peterson stepped up onto the first tee and did this…
Let it be known if you Gilmore it off the first on Sunday you shoot 6 under. @drewsteckel pic.twitter.com/eFjaVxWdVe

But where did the ball go? Peterson reveals all…
Oh. Didn’t go according to plan then. However, it did set him up for his best round of the week by eight shots – a six-under-par 66.
And finally…
Jordan Spieth landed in Shanghai this morning for the WGC-HSBC Champions and it didn’t take long for him to see himself emblazoned as ‘Iceman’ on the airport wall.
And alongside fellow ‘superhero’ ‘The Power’ (Rory McIlroy), he took to Instagram to show off the poster.
He wrote: “15 hours later in Shanghai and greeted by fire and iceman at the baggage claim.. Hi @rorymcilroy.”
