A slow start cost Scottie Scheffler a third consecutive win at the Charles Schwab Challenge, as Ben Griffin lifted the title.

It was the American’s second career PGA Tour win, only four weeks after winning the Zurich Classic of New Orleans with Andrew Novak.

Griffin, 29, shot up to a career high of No.24 in the official world rankings whilst earning a few other pretty nice perks.

With a total prize purse of $9.5 million on the line, Griffin banked just north of $1.7 million.

His 12-under-par winning score was one better than German Matti Schmid and sealed the keys to a 1992 Schwab Defender at Colonial.
