Don’t expect to see Charley Hull lighting up a cigarette anytime soon. If you do, however, it’ll cost her a lot of money.
The Englishwomen has vowed to quit smoking for good, even going to the extreme lengths of placing a £10,000 bet on herself.
Hull, 28, posted a video on Instagram yesterday alongside golfer Ryan Evans, promising to pay him the huge sum if she smokes at any point in the next two months.
“Deal is a deal, let’s see if I’m a woman of my word,” the caption read.
Hull said: “Today, I’ve made the decision to stop smoking and I’m going to do a ten-grand bet – I get no money from it – that if I pick up a cigarette in the next two months, I’ll give you ten grand.
“I’m shaking on that, deal. I promise you I won’t, and you can chuck those in the bin for me.”
And, Hull soon added that she won’t turn to vapes. “Btw I’m not turning to vapes either,” she wrote. “I have snuss but that’s it!”

Hull, who has represented Europe in seven Solheim Cups, has gone viral on social media over the last 12 months for smoking on the golf course.
It’s certainly raised eyebrows, splitting opinion in the golf world among fans, players, and even US President Donald Trump.
The world No.10 lavished praise on the 78-year-old in November, becoming the latest high-profile golfer to make her feelings clear towards Trump.
“I love Trump. I think he’s brilliant,” Hull told the Palm Beach Post.
“I like how he just says things, he doesn’t care what people think and he’s straight to the point. I wish he was head of the UK.
“I just like him as a person. He’s a little better than our Prime Minister.”

Meanwhile, it’s unclear how Hull’s smoking halt will affect her performance on the golf course after claiming a ban at last year’s Olympics could scupper her medal hopes.
“I do smoke on the course, it’s just something I do,” she said. “It’s a habit but I won’t do this week. I don’t think you’re allowed.”
Asked if she’s concerned that will have a negative effect on her game, Hull replied: “Yeah, I think it will because it relaxes me a little bit. But it is what it is.”
Hull admitted that her whole family smokes and her dad, in particular, has smoked ‘40 a day’ since he was 12 years old.
