Charley Hull isn’t your normal LPGA golfer.

The Englishwoman has a generational talent on the course, plays at a refreshingly rapid pace, takes on just about every flag she sees and smokes an average of five cigarettes per round.

Off the course, Hull doesn’t have the training regime of your normal golfer, either.

Despite her smoking habit, the 28-year-old is a fitness fanatic away from the fairways and regularly keeps her 700,000 Instagram followers up to date with her exhausting routines when she’s not playing.

The self-confessed gym freak admitted that the reason she doesn’t work on golf-related exercises like her fellow pros when she isn’t practising is because it’s “boring.”

“People are asking why I run so much and why I don’t do golf specific training,” she wrote on Instagram. “1. golf training is boring I have no interest in that at all but the training & weights I do help my golf.

“2. I love running as a hobby and for my fitness and my mind. The more fitter you are the less jet lag you get and the more stamina you have.”

Hull also stressed the reason she doesn’t get injured is because she recovers properly with ice baths, physio and massages. The Kettering-born star said she is so active because she “hates being a slob.”

“I love always being on the go living life in the fast lane,” she wrote. “Sleep is key though I get about 10-11 hours a night of sleep but I also can survive for 4/5 hours of sleep no problem.”

Addressing her smoking habit, she added: “It’s the only bad thing I do! I don’t eat hardly unhealthy I eat super clean I never drink (alcohol) probs 2/3 times a year max. I got all my drinking out the way when I was 18/19 (good times)!”

Hull’s lifestyle choices certainly paid off on the course in 2024. After starring in a losing European Solheim Cup team in the United States, she won her first tournament in over two years at the Aramco Team Series event in Riyadh in November.
