LPGA Tour star Charley Hull has called for a complete social media ban in the wake of a TikTok shutdown in the US.
The Chinese-owned app went dark on Sunday after a long-awaited ban hit over 170 million users in America.
It is believed to have restored service, however, as President Donald Trump vowed to revive access to the app in the US when he returns to power today.
That will come as bad news to Hull, 28, who, in a shock Instagram post on Sunday, claimed the world would be a better place without all social media.
“TikTok is being banned, to be honest I think we should all be going back to old school, ban all social media go back to a Nokia phone and live life in the moment,” she wrote.
“Guarantee the whole world would be a happier and healthier place.”

It’s despite Hull frequently posting on Instagram and having over 700,000 followers on the social media platform.
The Englishwoman also posts regularly on her Facebook and X accounts.
Meanwhile, the claim comes after Hull took to social media at the end of last year to warn fans of fake accounts set up in her name.
The two-time Tour winner voiced her frustration towards ‘scammers’, while reiterating that she does not have an official account on TikTok.
“I mentioned this a few weeks ago but after an incident at a tournament recently, I feel the need to speak out again,” she wrote.

“I will never ask for money or gift cards in exchange for meet & greets or fan club membership. These clubs are fake and run by scammers.
“My team and I only use my official social media accounts, @charley.hull (Instagram) @hullcharley (X) at ALL times, there are no exceptions. I am not on Tik Tok.
“There are SO many fake accounts out there claiming to be me, if you are contacted by them, please please report. Let’s all stick together so we can beat the scammers.”
