More commonly known as the ‘Honda’, the Cognizant Classic kicks off the PGA Tour’s Florida swing again – and with a lot on the line.
It’s the last week for players to secure their place in the Players Championship via the top 50 in the Official World Golf Rankings, as well as one of the last chances to qualify for The Masters.
Only six more events, including this one, grant the winner a spot in the field at Augusta National for the opening major of the men’s season in April.
Meanwhile, the prize purse has been handed a boost from last year, with an extra $200,000 taking the total fund to just over $9 million.
Shane Lowry, Daniel Berger and Sungjae Im are among the protagonists with the over $1.6 million winner’s payout in their sights.
