As if Rory McIlroy wasn’t under enough pressure to win The Masters this week!

The Northern Irishman knows that victory at Augusta National will see him become just the sixth player in history to complete the career grand slam.

However, that’s not all that is at stake – he could also make one English punter over £107,000 richer!

• Which former rival does Rory miss on tour?

According to Ladbrokes, a Rory fan walked into one of their Southampton branches and threw down a whopping £40,000 in total – £20,000 each-way – on the 29-year-old winning the Green Jacket.

• Masters 2019 – The field in full

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “McIlroy is by far the best-backed name in the field for the Masters and one customer has gone all out this morning in backing Rory to complete a remarkable career Grand Slam.”
