To date, 11 different Spanish golfers have played in the Ryder Cup. Don’t be surprised if Otaegui makes it 12 at Whistling Straits in 2020. The 25-year-old from San Sebastian is a two-time European Tour winner, with both wins incorporating at least some element of head-to-head golf: the 2017 Paul Lawrie Match Play and the Belgian Knockout earlier this year. This year, he entered the world’s top 100 for the first time and played in his first major. His career is most certainly on an upward trajectory.
