FootJoy has today announced that it is to continue its partnership with the European Tour until September 2018.

The initial contract between FootJoy and the European Tour began in 2008, and now both brands have agreed a new partnership encompassing a variety of brand-sharing and marketing efforts.

FootJoy’s company sales & marketing director Richard Fryer has confidence in the new deal.

“We are immensely proud of the relationship we have developed with the European Tour over the past seven years, so naturally we are delighted to extend this association,” said Fryer.

“We are certainly looking forward to working closely alongside their team over the next five-years, as both organisations continue to lead from the forefront of the industry.”

“I think the fact that both parties have agreed to extend the partnership says everything about the level of satisfaction with our agreement.”

Tim Shaw, Sales Director for the European Tour, is also leased with the new deal.

“Our relationship with FootJoy as an Official Supplier has been overwhelmingly positive,” he said.

“I think the fact that both parties have agreed to extend the partnership says everything about the level of satisfaction with our agreement which we hope will continue long into the future.”

FootJoy and the Ryder Cup

FootJoy’s latest agreement follows on from an earlier deal involving Ryder Cup Europe, which will see the brand become an official license of the global event.

Players signed to FootJoy, Victor Dubuisson and Jimmy Walker, look like they will be battling it out at Gleneagles this Septemeber, while World No.1 Adam Scott, who won at Colonial last week, is also with the brand.

Last year saw many of the brands players in the winners circle, too, perhaps the most prestigious of all being Henrik Stenson’s Race to Dubai victory and Jason Dufner’s US PGA Championship win.

Following on from FootJoy’s successful year, Fryer thanked all the staff involved.

“As the clear No.1 Shoe brand of choice week-in-week-out amongst competitors on The European Tour, we also wanted to extend our support to everyone on the Tour from the agronomy & event staff to referees and officials – all of whom play crucial roles in enhancing the all-round appeal and credibility of the brand.”
