Eugenio Chacarra gave quite the parting shot when leaving LIV Golf.
After the Spaniard’s LIV officially contract ended last month, he said he felt let down by broken promises during his time with the breakaway league.
“I see what it’s like to win on the PGA Tour and how your life changes,” Chacarra told Flushing It. “How you get major access and ranking points. On LIV, nothing changes, there is only money.
“It doesn’t matter if you finish 30th or first, only money. I’m not a guy who wants more money. When I joined LIV, they promised OWGR and majors. But it didn’t happen. I trusted them.”
Chacarra, who won during LIV’s inaugural season, was equally frustrated about the peculiar position he now finds himself in within the fractured landscape.

The PGA Tour suspends LIV golfers from any Tour-sanctioned event for one-year from their last competitive start on the rival league, meaning Chacarra won’t be able to make a start on the US circuit until at least September 2025.
Chacarra, though, is just desperate to play golf again.
He will now spend a full season playing on the Asian Tour – which is bankrolled by LIV’s Saudi benefactors – while he bides his time before trying to earn a PGA Tour card.
This week, the 24-year-old is at the Asian Tour’s $2million International Series India event, where he has set the early pace in a field that also includes US Open champion Bryson DeChambeau.
“I’m just doing my thing,” Chacarra told Flushing It after his four-under opening 68 at DLF Golf Club.
“I thought it was time for me to pursue my dreams since I was little to try to get on the PGA Tour. So I made the decision I thought was good for me, the same as back in the day when I made the decision to go to LIV was also a good decision for me.
“Right now, I have a lot of goals, and I want to succeed, and I’m really motivated again to wake up and work as hard as I can to complete my goals. I’m really happy to be out there competing, and I’m very grateful to the Asian Tour for what they’re doing.

“The tour is trending up and there’s so many great players coming and it’s awesome to see it. I just love competing on the Asian Tour and I want to play as much as I can right now.
“I feel healthy and motivated to play. I don’t know what’s going to happen but I know that good golf takes care of itself and I’m really happy to be playing golf again.”
Chacarra was also keen to stress that he has no hard feelings towards LIV – despite those pointed exit comments.
“Like I always said, I am very, very, very thankful for LIV,” he said. “I am a LIV Golf fan. I’m going to keep watching LIV and I’m going to keep supporting the Fireballs.
“I am very thankful for what Sergio (Garcia) and the Fireballs did for me the last 3 years, but I think it was time for me to move on and I think it’s already passed in my mind.”
