Former PGA Tour winner Aaron Wise, who was once ranked as highly as No.33 in the world, is set to return to professional golf this week.
The 28-year-old was named the 2018 PGA Tour Rookie of the Year and finished 13th in the 2022 FedEx Cup but took a mental health break the following year.
Wise withdrew ahead of what would have been his second Masters appearance.

“Regretfully I am withdrawing from the Masters today,” he wrote on an Instagram story.
“Golf is just as much a mental game as it is one of physical skill, and the mental piece of it has been a struggle for me recently.
“I don’t take the significance of playing at Augusta lightly, but I know that I need to take some time away to focus on my mental health so I can get back to competing at a level I am proud of.
“This hurts but it’s needed. See you all soon.”

Wise returned later that season but, following three missed cuts, he ended his season early and next teed it up at the Korn Ferry Tour’s Puerto Rico Open in March 2024, where he missed the cut.
Now, after a year-long layoff, he is in the field at this week’s 118 Visa Argentina Open, another event on the feeder circuit.
It gets underway on Thursday at the Jockey Club in Buenos Aires, with Wise set to tee off at 10:10 local time.
Meanwhile, he has 26 starts remaining on his PGA Tour major medical extension. The last major championship he contested was the 2023 US Open at Los Angeles Country Club.
