A former Scottish golf course that has been closed for 15 years has just hit the market.

The old East Aberdeenshire Golf Club at Millden – located just a few miles from Donald Trump’s golf business in Aberdeen – could be yours for under £500,000.

The site, which was home to a former 18-hole parkland course as well as nine-hole facility, spans across 62 acres and was once renowned for its glorious views across the North Sea.

But following the complex’s closure in 2010, Aberdeen and Northern Estates are promoting a “once-in-a-lifetime opportunity” to buy the piece of land with “exceptional development potential.”

Situated on the outskirts of Balmedie, the land is just three miles from Trump International Scotland.

It is up for sale for offers of over £465,000.

The estate agent explains that “various bids for development” have been put forward for the site in recent years and it is currently being promoted for inclusion in the Aberdeenshire Local Development Plan 2029.

“The land is characterised by gently rolling permanent pasture, interspersed with pockets of mixed semi-mature woodland forming excellent wildlife habitats,” the property description reads.

Nearby in Aberdeenshire, meanwhile, US President Trump is planning to open a second golf course in 2026.

The much-anticipated MacLeod Course – named after his mother –  will sit alongside his existing links to create what Trump’s company is calling ‘the greatest 36 holes in golf’.

“There are very few great stretches of developable links land in the world as good as this,” said Sarah Malone, executive vice-president of Trump International, Scotland.

“A truly remarkable, world-class team of architects, engineers, environmental scientists and industry specialists have been working tirelessly in the background – etching out every square inch of this phenomenal piece of land to create one of the great wonders in the world of golf.”
