The PGA Tour is moving on to Riviera Country Club this week for the latest edition of the Genesis Invitational.

One of the USA’s oldest professional events, it was first staged in 1926 as the Los Angeles Open but is now known as the Genesis Invitational for sponsorship purposes.

A stacked field is expected to participate at Riviera – one of the most popular and historic stops on tour – but, with respect to those taking part, a sizeable chunk of the attention is likely to fall on Tiger Woods.

The 15-time major champion will be in attendance in his capacity as tournament host. It was immediately after this event last year that Woods was involved in a near-fatal car accident

The Genesis Invitational features one of the biggest purses in the regular PGA Tour season, so it offers players a great chance to kick-start their 2022 around a top quality course.

Here’s everything you need to know to follow the action this week…

Sam Burns:  Burns often flies under the radar, but he’s top-20 in the world for a reason. The Louisiana man won twice last year and held the 54-hole lead at this event, so he clearly likes the course. Don’t be surprised to see him near the top of the leader board again this time around.

The Genesis Invitational: How can I watch it on TV?
