Robert MacIntyre has realised his dream.
The man from Oban is the Scottish Open champion, just one year after having the title snatched away by Rory McIlroy’s birdie-birdie finish at the Renaissance Club.
Just like last year, MacIntyre played some stunning golf down the stretch, birdieing his final hole to card a final round 67 and edge out Adam Scott by one shot.

There was a huge slice of luck when MacIntyre gained relief from a sprinkler head in the heavy rough in the 16th, but he took full advantage by making an eagle on the par-5.
And he drained his 22ft birdie putt on the 18th to claim the trophy he has longed for, causing rapturous scenes in East Lothian.
MacIntyre earned $1.62million for his second victory of the season and the Scot is now up to a high of No.16 in the Official World Golf Rankings.
