Greg Norman’s son has claimed tournament chiefs could create a “buzz” by inviting him and his father to tee it up alongside Tiger Woods and his teenage son Charlie.
Norman Jr has proposed the unlikely four-ball at the PNC Championship, the annual exhibition in Florida that Woods has confirmed he will participate in next week.
The Australian believes that the presence of his father – LIV Golf’s firebrand and outgoing commissioner – alongside Woods would show that bridges are being built across the sport’s divide.
Woods has not played since The Open in July but will make his return from injury at the light-hearted PGA Tour event in Orlando, which sees current stars teeing it up alongside their family members.

“If they really wanted to shake things up and cause a buzz, they should have invited us to the PNC and paired us with Tiger and Charlie,” Norman Jr wrote on X.
“Mend the fences. Show unity. Mic us up. Have some fun. Celebrate family and the game right?”
That proposal is extremely unlikely to come into fruition, however – not least because the PNC Championship field has already been set.
John Daly and his son John Daly II, Nick Faldo and son Matthew and defending champions Bernhard Langer and son Jason are all set to take part at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club.
Woods, of course, has previously called for Norman to walk away from his role in the sport’s great schism.
“I think Greg’s got to leave and then we can eventually, hopefully, have a stay between the two lawsuits and figure something out,” the 15-time major champion said two years ago.
Now, after many more months fronting LIV, Norman will indeed step aside, but the two-time major champion has confirmed he will still have a role to play in the future of the Saudi-backed breakaway league.

“Is there going to be a new CEO? Yes,” he told WISH-TV. “There will be a new CEO. I’m fine with that.
“Will I always have a place and be involved with LIV to some capacity? Yes. I’ll always have that. Because the impact that has been created in the game of golf by LIV, I’ve had a small, small piece of that, which I’m proud of.”
While Norman’s exit is imminent, a deal to unite the warring factions and the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) which bankrolls LIV also appears to be drawing closer.
Responding to a Bloomberg report that the PIF are closing in on a 6% stake in the PGA Tour, Norman’s son defended the disruptive emergence of LIV: “Amazing how things change so quickly, eh?” he added.
“Or the truth… it’s was all just a psyop pushed end over end by top through owned media channels in order to stop a newcomer from entering the market and breaking up a broken system.”
