Henrik Stenson shot arguably the best final round in major history to lift the Claret Jug for the first time at Royal Troon.
In an incredible duel with five-time major winner Phil Mickelson, the Swede showed nerves of steel throughout his round to post 63 - which included ten birdies and two bogeys - and his peers couldn't believe what they were seeing as the duo finished 14 and 11 shots clear respectively of J.B. Holmes in third.
@henrikstenson just incredible! The separated two shoot the lowest rounds of the day! unreal.. Inspiring to watch!— Jordan Spieth (@JordanSpieth) July 17, 2016
20 under!!! Respect @henrikstenson. That's how you earn your 1st major. Amazing stuff.— Luke Donald (@LukeDonald) July 17, 2016
Phil played all four rds under par, including a 63 and a final rd 65, and STILL LOST BY 3! That was incredible. This Open was won, not lost.— Webb Simpson (@webbsimpson1) July 17, 2016
