A total of 15 LIV golfers were in action at this year’s PGA Championship, but how did they fare?

Well, in truth, those competing from the Saudi-backed circuit produced a mixed bag at Quail Hollow.

There were a raft of casualties as the cut line dropped on Friday and, surprisingly, seven of them were LIV Golf stars. That included past PGA Champions Brooks Koepka and Phil Mickelson.

In the end, Bryson DeChambeau came closest to Scottie Scheffler, finishing second again.

Here’s how the unofficial LIV Golf leaderboard at the PGA Championship turned out…

Bryson DeChambeau T2

The two-time US Open champ had a share of the lead at one point on Saturday but the Green Mile all but ended his chances shortly after. Always the entertainer, it’s a matter of time before he wins another major.

Joaquin Niemann T8

Finally, the Chilean has a yellow box on Wikipedia. Niemann, thanks to a double bogey from Adam Scott on the 72nd hole, recorded his first major championship top ten. It was despite an opening round of 74, too.

Jon Rahm T8

The 2025 PGA Championship was a story of what could have been for Rahm. He was bidding to become the first Spaniard to win three different majors – and this event – but unfolded over the final three holes stretch. Two water balls meant 16 strokes.

Richard Bland T37

Bland would certainly like another go at Saturday, after the Englishman – who earned his place in the field via last year’s Senior win – carded a five-over 76. A T37 finish not bad for the 52-year-old, who hadn’t played in a major since the 2023 Open.

Tom McKibbin T50

In his first PGA Championship appearance, McKibbin got off to a flyer. However, his one-under-par start was followed by three rounds over par. Three major starts, three made cuts for the Northern Irishman.

Tyrrell Hatton T60

One of two LIV men occupying this finishing spot on the leaderboard, Hatton disappointed. The fiery Legion XIII star opened with a 68 but was never in contention after that. His strange form in the ‘big four’ rumbles on.

David Puig T60

A fairly steady week for the 23-year-old Puig, who entered the final round at -2. No fewer than ten bogeys or worse later and he was almost last of those who made the weekend.

Sergio Garcia T67

Just ask the Spaniard himself how he fared at Quail Hollow. So bad, he said, that if Luke Donald picked him for this year’s Ryder Cup, he’d turn it down. 75-68-79-69 would anger anybody in the world of golf.

Patrick Reed MC

Reed flirted with the cut line on Friday before falling two shots short of a weekend crack. A surprise given the 34-year-old’s recent major record. Despite not winning, he hadn’t missed a cut since 2021.

Dean Burmester MC

The South African Stinger was a longshot some fancied heading into the week in North Carolina. Two LIV top fives part of a strong start to the season, but Burmester couldn’t bring that game.

Cameron Smith MC

It’s hard to fathom just how much Smith’s game in the ‘big four’ has fallen apart since lifting the Claret Jug in 2022. The Aussie signed for +7 at the halfway stage and was given his marching orders.

Martin Kaymer MC

Incredibly, the majority of PGA Champions were nowhere to be seen on the leaderboard over the weekend. Kaymer, the 2010 champ, included. Five MCs in his last six at this event doesn’t read well.

Phil Mickelson MC

What can you say about Mickelson’s week? Arrived conspicuously late on Wednesday, shot an opening round of 79, took four blows at a bunker shot on Friday and, ultimately, missed the cut.

Brooks Koepka MC

A three-time winner of the Wanamaker trophy, Koepka was sent home early on nine-over-par. It was the first time he’s missed the cut at this event and the first time he’s missed consecutive major cuts.

Dustin Johnson MC

The former world No.1 beat only one tour pro home at Quail Hollow, following a disastrous two days. Rounds of 78-76 marked the latest in a string of torrid major performances for Johnson.
