Jon Rahm has made his feelings VERY clear after a ‘frustrating’ day at the US Open.

The Spaniard backed up Thursday’s 69 with a five-over 75 but the story of his second round was written on the greens.

At the conclusion of his round, Rahm had lost three strokes to the field putting.

It was particularly frustrating for the 30-year-old, given that he had gained almost three strokes in approach and was inside the top ten.

“I didn’t make a putt,” he said, “that was the main difference.

“I didn’t play bad. I played quite good golf. Didn’t see anything go in beside a 7-footer on 7. That’s it. That’s a very hard thing to deal with to try to shoot a score out here.”

When asked if he could put the score into perspective with conditions at Oakmont so tough, Rahm unloaded.

“Honestly, I’m too annoyed and too mad right now to think about any perspective,” he said. “Very frustrated.

“Very few rounds of golf I played in my life where I think I hit good putts and they didn’t sniff the hole, so it’s frustrating.”

Rahm made just a single birdie on day two, coming at the par-5 12th hole. Albeit that followed a double bogey six just moments earlier.

The two-time major champ arrived in solid form, despite not having a LIV Golf win to his name in 2025.

With a T8 finish at LIV Golf Virginia last week, Rahm extended his streak of finishing inside the top ten in each of his starts on the Saudi-backed circuit.

But ahead of the third men’s major of the year, he made an honest admission about his own, widely discussed, form.

“I would happily trade a bunch of them for more wins,” he said on Tuesday, “but I keep putting myself in good position. I’m a realist in this case.

“I’ve been playing really good golf, yes, but I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t easier to have top-tens because of the smaller fields. That’s just the truth, right.

“Had I been playing full field events, would I have top-tens every single week? No.”

At the time of writing, Rahm is well inside the cutline at T36.
