The famously striking sweater vest worn by Jason Day at The Masters has been sold at auction for his foundation.
Day caused quite the stir at Augusta National back in April with a jumper emblazoned with the logo of his new apparel sponsor Malbon.
During the first round, Day wore a sleeveless top with the words of the fictitious ‘Malbon Golf Championship’ across it.

He later revealed that he had been asked to remove the garish garment by the club.
“They asked me to take it off,” the Aussie explained. “Respectfully, you do that because it’s all about the tournament here, and I understand that. I respect the tournament. That’s what we’re here to do is try and play and win the Green Jacket. They said: ‘Can you take it off?’ I said: ‘Yeah, no worries.
“It came from Augusta National. I don’t know if it was a Green Jacket. I don’t know who it was. They asked and I respectfully took it off.

“I wasn’t trying to do anything. They [Malbon] just scripted me in it and I was wearing it. They send you the scripting and say, this is what we want you to wear Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and I’m like, OK.”
The story of Day’s jumper does have a happy ending, however.
During a night to raise money for his Brighter Days Foundation which supports children in Central Ohio, the garment fetched $18,000 at a private auction.
Quite the fee, indeed, but it was quite the jumper.
