The real Jason Day has arrived at the 125th US Open.
Day, 37, has become synonymous with his Malbon outfits, sporting remarkable looks particularly at major championships.
Think last year’s Masters tournament, where the Aussie turned out at Augusta National in a ‘cigarette carton’ vest, which he was asked to remove by tournament officials.
Or his rather unique, baggy get-up which drew plenty of attention at the Wells Fargo Championship in May.
Now, the 2015 PGA Champion has channelled an all-American look at the third men’s major of the year, set to get underway at Oakmont, in Pennsylvania, on Thursday.

Maybe someone told him eight of the last ten US Opens were won by a player from the States?
Either way, Day seems to be a lover of the red, white and blue, with his shorts doing all of the talking.
He paired his 4th of July swim shorts with a navy Malbon polo, featuring a US flag on the right sleeve, as well as a red and white-lined collar.

Day was also seen practicing in a white jacket, again with a US flag on the right sleeve and the nation’s stars on his collar.
Of course, social media acted just as you’d expect.
“How do we get him on our team at Bethpage,” one fan asked on X.
Another wrote: “He was spotted later in the day doing cannon balls at the swimming pool.”
“Does anyone know where these shorts are from? I need them like I need air,” one said.

It’s fair to say that no matter how Day fares this week, he’s arrived at the US Open better prepared than his competitors.
Meanwhile, it’s also a bonus to see him in action. The former world No.1 had planned to return from injury at last week’s RBC Canadian Open but opted to rest.
A wrist setback was the latest in a line of injuries that have hampered his season.
Day was forced out of the Players in March with an illness, the Truist Championship with back and neck issues, and the recent Memorial Tournament with a sore left wrist.
He missed the cut in his last two US Open starts, after missing the event in 2021 and 2022.
