We’re not going to get tired of talking about Happy Gilmore 2, particularly when it comes to who will (and won’t) be playing a part in the much-anticipated sequel.

The 1996 smash hit comedy – which sees a down-on-his-luck wannabe ice hockey player, played by Adam Sandler, turn his attention to golf in a bid to save his grandmother’s house from repossession – features a number of big-name cameos, including six-time major champion Lee Trevino and legendary gameshow host Bob Barker.

And rumours about possible star-name appearances in the upcoming film have been swirling since news first broke that it was being made.

Among those already confirmed is NFL star Travis Kelce, who you might know as Taylor Swift’s boyfriend, while Rory McIlroy, Tiger Woods and Bryson DeChambeau are among those who have also been heavily linked to being involved.

Another obvious candidate is John Daly, and the ‘Wild Thing’ has dropped a massive hint about whether or not he will have a role in the film.

Outkick’s Mike Gunzelman grabbed the two-time major champion at a recent party to ask him a few questions, and he was keen to know if Sandler had approached him yet.

Daly offered him one better.

“I’ve filmed it already, we’re getting it done,” the 58-year-old replied, before putting a finger over his lips and adding a shushing gesture.

Then he added some more information to which we weren’t yet privy: “It’s coming out on Netflix maybe in March or April of next year.”

Hopefully Sandler and Netflix won’t be too dismayed at Daly breaking that news.

Gunzelman also asked him about the upcoming presidential election – “Go Daddy Trump!” – and for his thoughts on Charley Hull smoking on the golf course, to which he somewhat bizarrely replied: “She might be my daughter, but if she ain’t I’d love to take her out.”

Well, she is single
