John Daly is recovering in hospital after undergoing “emergency hand surgery.”
The two-time major champion shared the update on Instagram, telling fans that the procedure went “great” and thanking his doctor for “taking care of me.”
Daly’s post had a picture of the 58-year-old lying in a hospital bed with a heavily wrapped up left hand.
At this stage, it is not clear what caused Daly’s injury.

However, Daly has stated that after his surgery in Florida, he expects to get back playing in “no time.”
Daly has received plenty of well wishes in his recovery, including a social media message from his longtime home of the PGA Tour Champions.
Despite regular injury setbacks and his struggle to compete, the American fan favourite continues to travel with a relatively busy schedule on the over 50’s circuit.
Daly, most famous for winning the 1991 PGA Championship as a ninth alternate and then the Open at St Andrews in 1995, played 16 events on the Champions Tour in 2024, missing just one cut.

“Wishing John Daly a speedy recovery!” the circuit posted on X.
Daly’s setback comes three months after suffering “total loss and devastation” following a catastrophic storm that completely destroyed his home in Florida.
The Category 4 Hurricane Helene, the deadliest US storm in 19 years, had a death toll surpassing 230 people.
“It was bad. I mean, I feel for everybody,” Daly said in October. “I’m surprised we didn’t lose more people. But it’s sad for the ones we did.
“It’s devastating. It’s the worst I’ve ever seen. I hope everybody gets safe and gets their home back. But my heart just goes out to everybody.”
