• Spieth and Mickelson top golfers on Forbes' Celebrity 100
• The 23-year-old is the second youngest on the annual list
• Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy also feature in the top 100
Jordan Spieth has been named as the second youngest person on Forbes’ Celebrity 100 list of top-earning celebrities for 2016.
The 23-year-old earned $53m from June 1, 2015 to June 1, 2016 – including $32m in endorsements from sponsors Under Armour, Coca-Cola and Titleist – and was ranked No.37 overall on the list alongside Phil Mickelson, who earned the same amount.
Only singer Justin Bieber, 22, was higher on the list than Spieth, coming in at No.26 with earnings of $56m.
Also included on the list were Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, ranked No.51 and No.60 respectively.
Despite making only seven starts in the period measured, Woods took home a staggering $45.5m, the bulk of which is likely to include the $20m per year he gets from Nike – although other current partners include Hero MotoCorp, Kowa, Rolex and Upper Deck.
McIlroy, meanwhile, has fallen down the list slightly after making his debut in the list in 2015. He pocketed $42.5m – down $6m from 2015 – but continues to be a marketing dream.
Like Woods, McIlroy earned nearly $20m from Nike, while also getting substantial amounts from Omega, Bose, Upper Deck and Electronic Arts – the latter after replacing Tiger Woods as the face of the ‘PGA Tour’ video game series.
But the four players will have a long way to go to get to No.1 on the ‘Celebrity 100’ list. Singer Taylor Swift earned more than Spieth, Mickelson and Woods put together, raking in $170m, largely down to her sell-out 1989 World Tour.
