Justin Rose is getting some practice in ahead of an all-important event later this year – but we aren’t talking about the Ryder Cup.

The Englishman is, ahem, helping to write songs with Niall Horan of One Direction, as the pair prepare to host a charity gala at the end of next month.

He took to Instagram to give an update on how things were shaping up…

Over the past 18 months, Niall has become a prominent figure in and around golf, famously slipping over when caddying for Rory McIlroy at last year’s Masters Par-3 Contest, while more recently he announced he was setting up his own golf management company, entitled Modest Golf Management.

The fancy gala will take place from May 28-29 at a top secret location in London, with proceeds going towards Cancer Research UK Kids and Teens. It will be hosted by Sky Sports’ Kirsty Gallacher and fellow sports anchor Gabby Logan.

The big questions are though, will the song be about golf? And, will it be as good as the Golf Boys?

I guess we'll have to wait and see...
