US Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley has said he’s been inspired by the leadership of Team USA captain Jim Furyk at this week’s Presidents Cup in Canada.
Bradley, 38, was a shock selection as the US captain for the 2025 Ryder Cup at Bethpage, in New York, as he is still playing top-flight competitive golf.
He is, in fact, the current world No.13 and has won twice in the last 15 months on the PGA Tour.
One of the stars of the US team at Medinah back in 2014 – where he partnered Phil Mickelson to great success – the American has said he is being influenced and inspired by the captaincy of Furyk, who has led his team to a 5-0 advantage after day one at Royal Montreal, in Canada.

“He’s just done an unbelievable job,” said Bradley, who won his fourballs match with Wyndham Clark against Christiaan Bezuidenhout and Taylor Penderith. “He’s a guy I looked up to my whole life.
“To kind of watch the subtle things that he does and the pairings he put together and the matches we did before, the real matches, man, he’s done just a great job in inspiring all of us.”
With the US team carving out a whitewash over the Internationals, led by Canadian Mike Weir, Bradley will be hoping that his learnings from this week can create some building blocks as the US look to win back the Ryder Cup in New York next year.

One question posed to him suggested that the Netflix hit show Full Swing played a large role in him being selected for the team.
He said he hoped that was not the case.
“Well, I hope they didn’t choose me to be the Ryder Cup captain because of a TV show, but I’m really grateful for Full Swing and Netflix. They’ve been really great to me.”
