After a week off, the DP World Tour heads to Kenya for the Magical Kenya Open.

This tournament has been on the European circuit’s schedule since 2019 after being a mainstay on the formerly known Challenge Tour for 27 years.

The $2.5million event in Nairobi is the first of three events on the African continent to conclude the DP World Tour’s International Swing.

The South African Open Championship and the Joburg Open will follow the tournament at Muthaiga Golf Club in the Kenyan capital.

Darius Van Driel will be back to defend his title after edging out England’s Joe Dean and Spain’s Nacho Elvira last season.

The Dutchman will be joined in the field by numerous winners on the DP World Tour, including Angel Hidalgo and Li Haotong, who is fresh off a victory at the Qatar Masters.

Intriguingly, former LIV Golf player Eugenio Chacarra has been offered a tournament invite, so will make a rare start on the circuit as he targets a first PGA Tour card later this year.

The bunkered Bet

Joe Dean 25/1

The Sheffield man announced himself to the tour at this event last year, finishing in second place. He withdrew from the Qatar masters through illness but has had two weeks to freshen up for this and was 13th last time out in Bahrain. If not for an opening 73, Dean would have been bang there on Sunday and ranked top five in approach and tee to green.

Please gamble responsibly.
