There is a lot to decide at LIV Golf’s final individual event of the 2024 season.

This week’s showpiece at Bolingbrook Golf Club just outside Chicago will see the league’s individual champion crowned, while other players will be doomed to relegation.

Jon Rahm currently has a slender lead over Joaquin Niemann in what will be a straight showdown for the Individual Championship.

The Spaniard, who has not finished outside the top ten in a LIV event he has completed all season, will win the title if he finishes ahead of the Torque GC captain – with a £13.6million bonus on line.

“I’m probably going to need to win (the event),” Rahm said when asked about Niemann’s challenge. “He’s going to be up there. I’m going to need another good week.”

Elsewhere, an interesting subplot will play out as relegation looms for those in the Drop Zone.

The seven players in the Drop Zone heading into the final event of the season are Scott Vincent, Branden Grace, Bubba Watson, Kalle Samooja, Kieran Vincent, Hudson Swafford and Anthony Kim.

Swafford and Kim are both wildcards, while Bubba Watson is thought to be exempt from relegation as a captain. Those on the bubble include Mito Pereira, Harold Varner and Pat Perez.
