LIV Golf heads to Texas for the first time for the eighth event of its 2024 season.

The Saudi-backed circuit has had a month-long break since Brooks Koepka won the last showpiece in Singapore.

And this $25million tournament at the Golf Club of Houston will provide a number of LIV stars the chance to tune-up before the US Open at Pinehurst No.2.

Those players heading to the famed North Carolina layout for the third major of the season include Koepka, Bryson DeChambeau, Phil Mickelson and Jon Rahm – who is still yet to win since his lucrative switch from the PGA Tour.

Interestingly, this venue hosted the Houston Open on the PGA Tour between 2003 and 2019, with five current LIV players winning titles on the course.

The bunkered Bet

Cameron Smith 12/1

Smith is already in the Pinehurst field so comes here fresh, having avoided the 36-hole qualifying slog on Monday. On a hat-trick of wins with Rippers GC, he only just made the cut in the PGA Championship but was T2 in Singapore on his last LIV start. The Golf Club of Houston has a tough set-up that’ll require some craft around the greens and Smith can capitalise.
