Bryson DeChambeau came so close to becoming the second consecutive LIV Golf player to win the PGA Championship.
DeChambeau posted a seven-under 64 in his thrilling Sunday charge at Valhalla to tie the lowest score in men’s major history.
Unfortunately for DeChambeau, Xander Schauffele went one better. Schauffele shattered that record by holing a nerve-shredding six-footer at the last to win his maiden major title at a historic 21-under-par.
“I shocked myself a couple times,” DeChambeau said after his near-miss. “Putted fantastic. I don’t feel like I missed one big-moment putt out there.
“There’s obviously a couple misses, but every time I needed to get up-and-down I got up-and-down, and every time I needed to make a 6-7-footer. I did. So definitely surprised myself, impressed myself and I know I can do it again, it’s just going to take some time.”

In total, 16 LIV players teed it up in Kentucky, but only one came within ten shots of DeChambeau’s impressive total.
Seven of those had been handed special invites by the PGA of America, who pride themselves on hosting the best field in golf.
There were mixed results, too, as 11 players from Greg Norman’s Saudi-backed start-up made the one-under cut mark, which saw 78 players reach the weekend.
But Jon Rahm, who has not finished outside the top-ten in seven starts since joining LIV, was the surprise casualty as the cut fell on Saturday morning.
Here’s how all 16 LIV players performed during a chaotic major week at Valhalla…
