The 2025 LIV Golf season is set to get underway in Saudi Arabia next month, but the opening event has been given a completely new look.
LIV Riyadh, hosted at Riyadh Golf Club, will be the first in the circuit’s history to take place at night.
All three tournament rounds – from February 8-10 – will be played under the lights, with a shotgun start scheduled to tee off at 6:15pm (local time).
It comes after LIV signed a multi-year deal with American television network FOX Sports last week, providing a home for live coverage of its 14 tournaments.
Per LIV Golf’s website – and first spotted by Sports Illustrated – the event will begin at 10:15am EST in the United States on Friday and Saturday, and at 10:05am EST on Sunday.

For viewers in the UK, LIV Golf Riyadh will start at 3:15pm on Friday and Saturday, and 3:05pm on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the event’s earlier US start time will give fans the chance to tune in before the PGA Tour’s highly popular Waste Management Phoenix Open tees off.
Otherwise known as ‘The People’s Open’, the action at TPC Scottsdale, in Arizona, won’t be aired live on TV until the afternoon.
Night golf, on the other hand, has become tried and tested in years.
The Ladies European Tour played under the lights in Dubai in 2020 at the Omega Dubai Moonlight Classic, whilst The Showdown and The Match have featured at night.

Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka, two of LIV Golf’s biggest stars, contested the latter in December against PGA Tour pair Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler.
LIV will travel to Adelaide one week later and it is schedule to tee off at 12:45pm (local time) to place the action on US television at primetime.
Last year, Mayakoba hosted the first LIV event of the season before the upstart moved to Las Vegas and then Jeddah, in March.
