LIV Golf star Patrick Reed has never been a stranger to criticism.
The 34-year-old, who won the Masters in 2018, has found himself in a few controversial situations over the years.
Whilst ‘teegate’ in the Middle East and cheating allegations in college have followed him, he insists he is “greatly misunderstood.”
Speaking in the November issue of bunkered, he said: “I have always heard that someone else’s opinion of me is none of my business.
“I like to keep things light because life is too short to let anyone rob you of your own happiness.”

On that basis, Reed won’t have had an issue with the most recent dig sent his way – from a fellow LIV golfer, nonetheless.
In a cheeky swipe at his compatriot, Harold Varner III has urged Reed to speed up on the golf course.
Reed has been plagued with pace of play concerns in recent years, so it maybe shouldn’t be a surprise that Varner called him out.
He wrote on X: “Tag a friend that takes forever, I’ll start @PReedGolf.”
In a short video alongside the post, Varner joked: “Golf tip of the week, this one’s for Patrick Reed.
“Be ready to hit, don’t take forever.”
Reed didn’t reply publicly to the post, but the fans who gathered in the comments clearly found the funny side of it.

Not so amusing was when Reed was punished by LIV Golf after being handed a stern warning at LIV Golf Chicago in September.
Richard Bland – one of three players in Reed’s group – was slapped with a one-stroke penalty and $10,000 fine.
LIV officials said the group were behind the pace after only five holes and fell even further behind before arriving at the 12th hole.
At the Masters in April, Tyrrell Hatton said the pace of Reed’s group in front of him was ‘brutal’.
“The lads in front have been so slow,” he said. “It’s pretty poor from the officials that it took 32 holes to put them on the clock.
“Yesterday they lost a hole and a half, they weren’t any better even this morning and then for the second round they were just brutal.
